The Conch (Cast-Off Drama) is a unique site-specific library and art installation located within the East St Arts/Grit Studios building at Salford Shopping Precinct. Designed as a spiralling shell of bookcases, it contains over 2,000 books available to borrow free of charge, covering topics including literature, poetry, theatre, art, feminism, LGBTQ+ issues, politics, history, philosophy and ecology.

The Conch offers a valuable resource for artists, creatives and local residents, with visits available by arrangement and regular open days and workshops hosted throughout the year.
